Reflection of Second Life

The one wears pink dots dress is me!!!!!!

Virtual meeting is so cooool! I never thought I could use a game as a tool of learning English. At first I didn't know how to use it because I seldom play this kind of games. Well, anyway, I finally got there and had a meeting with TA and my group members. I think it is funny and could have a lot of fun in it. One of my members changed his appearence many times and showed us. He really enjoyed it.
Besides, as online English learning as concerned, Second Life is indeed a good place to ESL stusents. There are many users from different countries in Second Life. Learners could communicate with others, making friends with them. By the process of chatting, students would learn English, though the grammar sometime is not right. No matter what, this creates a place to make those who are afraid of using English to practice. It's great!

Blog Review 5 Fili's world

In recent days, Taiwan is in chaos because of the politics. What Fili wrote in his blog was related to my feeling. Why people always use external force to solve things, though I don’t think that could be called “solve”. No matter what, we live in the same earth, breathing the same air; we share and encounter the same things in Taiwan. Why did they fight to each other just merely because of different political standpoint? Can’t they calm down and try to communicate with each other? Nevertheless, just like what Fili said, “Regardless of Taiwanese independence yes or no, I don’t enjoy watching Taiwan being bullied and manipulated by external forces. This whole political situation is tragic.” no one would like to see his or her country become such a bullied and barbarian one.

Blog Review 4 Fili's world

One of the articles I had read in Fili’s blog mentioned that a show in Taiwan visited Israel, which he had stayed for years. He thought it is a good way to know the country and post the links on the article. Though the show presents a country’s culture, as he said, it is not necessary that it shows all the aspects to audience. We could not believe what the show sent to us was what the country like even it is true. What we see maybe just the better part of the culture, after all, shows would not present negative things to its audience because of its TV rating or image to public. However, once you want to realize a country and its culture, it is not enough that just see those so called the good part of it. You should see the whole one; therefore you could know it throughout.

Blog Review 3 Fili's world

When I'm visiting this blog I would like to focus on the part about Taiwan. I think it is the closest one to me. I wonder what the differences of sights between foreigners and us toward Taiwan. Since Fili likes Taiwan very much, therefore, I would like to know what would he look things happened on this land? To us, Taiwan is our hometown; everything here seems so common and normal. But maybe there’s something that would make foreigners feel strange, especially when they contact it for the first time. Besides, I feel amazing that places Fili had visited in Taiwan are more than I had. He did not just go there eat and play. Fili appreciated it deeply with his sincere mind, realize those cultures not just the external but also the internal. I respect his spirit for he really loves Taiwan.
